| HISTORY |

La Casa was founded as a retail store in Guatemala City in 1994. We sold fine textiles (new as well as antique), colonial-style antique furniture, and folk art, including dance masks, santos, slingshots, and items relating to the religious and everyday life of the indigenous Mayan population.

| EXPORTER |
Top |
We have exported an increasingly wide range of Guatemalan handcrafted merchandise since 1995, and currently work with artisan communities throughout the country. Within Guatemala, our commitments are to generate sustainable, optimum income-producing crafts production, including new opportunities for existing artisan groups, and training for incipient groups. |
 |
Our commitment as exporters is to provide access to marketable volumes of high-quality competitively priced products, to pack them well, and to ship them on time. We foster the relationship between buyers and producers, and welcome designers with market links and new product opportunities, acting ourselves as facilitators and cheerleaders. We work in as many niches of markets as we can find in order to assure work for as many capable producers as we are able to find, our only limitation being absolute respect of the intellectual property our clients develop. |
